FORTLINE Getting Started
Join the Roblox place, leave the box, land with a glider, and survive the first ten minutes.
FORTLINE is already live on Roblox. You do not wait for a launch date, you do not need a party of four, and you do not need Robux to take the first fight. This page is the first-match walkthrough: how to join the official place, what the floating box is for, how the glider drop works, which guns you already own, how to toggle build mode without freezing, and what is worth doing in the first ten minutes. When you want the loop explained as a system instead of a checklist, switch to How to Play. When you want keybinds in a table, open Controls.
Join the Roblox place
Open the FORTLINE experience on Roblox (place 14313259147, universe 4948814458) and press Play. The game is free-to-play and tagged for PC, mobile, and console through Roblox’s own client. Servers cap at ten players. That is a small lobby compared with a hundred-player storm circle, which is the first thing that surprises Fortnite players. You will land near other people. Expect contact, not a five-minute loot path.
The creator group is Battle Royalе (group 3021625), owned by PoisonousWrld / WRLD. Join that group from the Roblox site before or after your first match. FORTLINE does not currently run working promo codes; the free-reward path is the group, not a redeem field. Confirm the latest wording on Codes so you do not waste a session hunting a box that is not there.
Cross-play is online. Friends on phone, PC, and console can sit in the same ten-player server. There is no local-only co-op mode to set up on one couch.
The box, the glider, and the drop
You spawn in a small box high above the arena. This is the pre-drop room, not a tutorial island. You can jump when you are ready. You can also look at premium displays while you wait: glider cosmetics, extra weapons, Double Health, Double Jump, and other Robux offers. Ignore the shop for match one. You already have a default glider and a default gun set.
Step out and deploy. The dedicated landing page is How to Land; the island vocabulary is the arena map. Steer toward a landing that is not stacked with the entire lobby. In a ten-player FFA, “uncontested” is relative. A slightly off-center roof or a ridge with one climb is better than the dead center of the map if three names dropped with you. The glider is a descent tool. Flamingo, UFO, and Jet skins change the look of that descent; they do not replace the need to pick a spot.
On the way down, decide your first plan: land, swap to a mid-range gun, and place one wall the first time someone shoots you. That is the whole tutorial. FORTLINE will not pause to teach it.
Inventory and the five default guns
After you land you are armed. Default weapons are a crossbow, a shotgun, an assault rifle, an SMG, and a sniper rifle. When you are not in build mode, the number keys select those weapons. Sportskeeda documents that mapping; do not assume a hidden sixth gun is sitting in a chest somewhere on the starter kit.
Rough first-session jobs:
- Shotgun: rooms, stairs, and anyone who rushed your landing.
- SMG: spray if they are close and still moving after the shotgun burst.
- Assault rifle: the default mid-range answer on ridges and rooftops.
- Sniper rifle: long sightlines after you have a wall to duck behind.
- Crossbow: utility when you need a different projectile rhythm, not your panic swap.
You will feel undergunned against players who bought extra weapons. That is expected. The Tier List Hub and How to Win explain how much those passes actually matter. For the first ten minutes, win or lose with the free set so you learn ranges instead of blaming the shop.
If a UI panel is in the way, press V to unlock the mouse and click with a cursor. V is the documented camera / UI unlock, not a melee key. If you cannot click a button, you are probably still in locked-camera look mode.
Build toggle before your first gunfight
Build mode is not optional flavor. It is how you stop eating full magazines in the open. Press Q, Z, or C to enter build mode. Number keys then pick among eight panel types. Left mouse button places the selected panel. You cannot shoot while build mode is on. Press Q again to leave build mode and return to guns. That toggle is the whole beginner skill. Players who forget it die with a ghost wall in their hands.
Place a wall between you and the first angle that tagged you. Do not start a three-story tower on match one. One wall, one peek, one shot. Panels absorb hits and then break, so a wall is a timer, not a bunker. Details, ramps, boxes, and panic-build habits live in How to Build. You only need the toggle and one wall to finish this page.
What to do in the first ten minutes
Minute 0–1: jump from the box, pick a landing that is not the entire lobby, touch ground with a gun out.
Minute 1–3: take the first fight or disengage behind a wall. If you die, you respawn. FORTLINE is not a one-life royale. Treat the first death as a reset, not a failed run.
Minute 3–6: spend one life only practicing the Q toggle. Enter build, place a wall, leave build, ADS with right mouse, fire. Repeat until the swap is boring.
Minute 6–8: try each default gun for a few shots so you know which number is the shotgun. Do not snipe at spawn as your only plan.
Minute 8–10: glance at the leaderboard so you know this lobby is a score chase. Then either stay and farm fights or leave and join the Battle Royalе group if you have not yet.
Do not buy Double Health, Double Jump, or Admin RPG during this window. You cannot tell whether a pass is carrying you until you can place a wall and hit a mid-range rifle shot. The shop will still be there after you read How to Win.
After the first session
You now know the join, the drop, the glider, the five guns, the build toggle, and V for UI. The next pages are not more “welcome” copy. How to Play is the FFA loop versus Fortnite. How to Build is walls, ramps, and boxes under fire. Controls is the key table for PC plus an honest mobile and console note. How to Win is positioning and spend priority. Players is the human side of the lobby, not a PvE roster.
If the first match felt like chaos with no ending, that is the design. Stay in the server, respawn, and treat the board as the win condition until you open the dedicated play guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common FORTLINE questions.
Do I need Robux to start FORTLINE?
No. The default glider and five weapons are enough for the first session. Buy passes only after you can toggle build mode and hit shots.
Where do I spawn and how do I land?
You start in a box above the arena. Jump out, ride the glider, and land off the stacked center if other players dropped with you.
Which guns do I have on a new account?
Crossbow, shotgun, assault rifle, SMG, and sniper rifle. Number keys select them when you are not in build mode.
How do I build and then shoot again?
Press Q, Z, or C to enter build mode, left-click to place a panel, then press Q to leave build mode and fire. See How to Build.
Are there codes I should redeem on day one?
No working promo codes as of 2026. Join the Battle Royalе group and check Codes instead of guessing strings.
What should I do after the first ten minutes?
Read How to Play for the FFA loop, then Controls if a key still feels wrong.
